"Lord to whom shall we go"
John 6:68
Dear Community of Saint Joseph’s; I am excited to invite you to participate in
Saint Joseph’s Fifteenth Annual Golf Tournament and Dinner Dance. This year we are celebrating living in the
Wild West with our theme: The Good, The Bad and the Golfers! All churches have to raise funds in addition
to the Sunday collection and some parishes have a multitude of events all year
long to supplement their income. I
personally find the prospect of promoting monetary events every Sunday
exhausting and distracting from the spiritual purpose of our church
attendance. I prefer to put a substantial amount of energy into one major
parish fund raising experience. Consequently
I hope you will join in making this year’s tournament and dinner dance our most
successful event ever! There are a multitude of ways you can get
involved and offer support: We welcome all golfers. Beginners, Intermediate and Advanced. Create your own Foursome or we will be happy
to match you up with a group in your experience level. Come to the dinner dance. Our parish hall will be transformed into a
western saloon for barbeque and dancing. If you are not a golfer you may decide
to attend just the dinner dance. Purchase raffle tickets. This year our grand raffle prize will be a
splendid dinner for eight with Father Matt and Father Patrick. We have four
additional wonderful prizes donated by parishioners so every ticket you buy or
sell for Saint Joseph’s is a financial advantage for the parish. Be a Golf Tournament
Sponsor. We have several levels of
sponsorship available and if you sponsor in the name of your business we will
promote your company in our Parish Bulletin, Santa Cruz Sentinel newspaper and
all of our Golf Tournament Event Publicity. Consider donating a gift
to our Dinner Dance Silent Auction.
We are putting a list in the parish bulletin weekly identifying the
gifts we would like to display and sell before the dinner dance begins. Perhaps you might consider donating an item
or a themed gift basket in honor of your favorite ministry. Thank you for your support and enthusiasm and please consider the ways in which you can help us in making this a successful,
relaxing and enjoyable occasion for everyone in Saint Joseph’s Catholic
Community. Father Matt Pennington Pastor
