Eleventh Sunday in Ordinary Time

“Her sins are forgiven” Luke 7:47
Summer’s warmth and
light infuse the
Fruits of the earth
with rich colors,
Varied texture, and
deep fragrance.
“You bring bread from
the earth
and wine to gladden our hearts.”
-
Psalm 104: 14-15
Dear Community of Saint Joseph’s;
As we move into the center of June, I hope take time to enjoy the beauty and warmth of the season. As you make your vacation plans and enjoy the relaxed summer schedule I hope you will always take time for feeding your spirit with prayer. And to whatever place your travels take you, seek out the local church and give thanks and praise for the blessings of your life
Hopefully things will be quieting down at Saint Joseph’s. We had a busy year and the vacation season is a great opportunity to welcome visitors to the parish and rest up for the fall schedule.
Our major summer project to be prepared for will be the Saint Joseph’s Annual Golf Tournament. It will be my first year to experience the tournament and I am excited to be a part of it on August 24. We are making a few changes to the event: a prize drawing, dancing with dinner and a few other refinements. If you have some free time in June, July and August we would love to welcome your assistance on the Golf Committee. Contact the parish office if you’d like to help in some way. We have sponsors to acquire and the golfing and dinner dance to organize. Our meetings have already been great fun and we welcome your support and helping hands. Join us for the next meeting on Tuesday, June 19 at 5:30 p.m. in the parish office.
Perhaps summer would be a good time to dedicate yourself to meditating on a passage of Sacred Scripture each day. You might consider reading a book on spirituality, maybe even giving some time to an outreach or charity for these vacation months. Think about joining one of our choirs, or spending some sacred time in Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament. Try something new that feeds your spirit and helps you to connect with the powerfully positive energy of our God.
Whether you are traveling or working these months,
be grateful for living in this beautiful place by the sea,
for the freedom to worship in the church of your choice,
for your family and friends,
your past and your future.
