Dear Community of Saint Joseph’s;

Thank you for your generosity throughout this difficult economic year and for your support of the Bishop’s Annual Ministries Appeal.  This last weekend we had our “Pledge Sunday,”  when we asked you to consider supporting Bishop Garcia in the ministries of the Diocese of Monterey and also to support our own capitol improvement project of building an elevator.  This project has long been a dream for Saint Joseph’s and is an essential improvement to our parish campus.  By the bulletin print deadline we did not have time to process all of last weekend’s pledges, however, I want to thank you now for helping us realize this dream.

It may take us several years to actually fund this project and we are looking into the possibility of a grant to assist us.  If you know of any other resources to help provide for the elevator project, please contact the parish office.  When we have completed construction of the elevator I would like to put a plaque upon the front of the structure in thanksgiving to the people of Saint Joseph’s.  An expensive project like this requires some larger gifts and so perhaps you would like to remember the name of a loved one who has died or even your family name as a long–term remembrance on the plaque .  Please contact myself or our parish administrator Barbara Day for specific information.

If you have not made a pledge at this time, please consider doing so and thank you for helping to make this dream a reality.  There is a Chinese proverb that reads “a journey of a thousand miles begins with one small step,” and this last weekend each one of us took one small step in making this elevator a reality for Saint Joseph’s Catholic Community.
