Dear Community of Saint Joseph’s,

 

Three Days.

 

In the rising and setting of the sun on three consecutive days, our church will be transformed to the white hot center of our faith.

 

Holy Thursday, Good Friday. Easter Vigil.

 

They are one celebration, taking place on three separate days. During these days we will read the most   penetrating passages form the Bible. On Holy Thursday, we will welcome the Holy Oils into our sacred space. We will wash the feet of twelve of the men, women and children of Saint Joseph’s. We will venerate our crucifix and pray for the ceasing of human suffering on Good Friday. Around a great fire in the early darkness of the Easter Vigil we will gather and tell stories and process with candles and sing songs of hope and healing. The baptismal water will be blessed, holy oil will pour and lives will be changed, forever.
