6th Sunday in Ordinary Time

"Blest are the poor, the reign of God is yours"
Luke 6:20
Dear Community of Saint Joseph’s; On behalf of Bishop Garcia, countless parishioners and guests of Saint
Joseph’s, please accept my gratitude for your support of the Bishop’s Annual
Ministries Appeal. At the time of
the bulletin going to print we were still organizing our pledges and gifts so I
do not have an exact figure for you at this time. Pledges are still arriving at the church and we hope that if you
have not had an opportunity, you would consider making your pledge before the
end of the month of February. Our goal for this years Bishop’s Appeal is $44,600. We apply everything
over that amount to our elevator project. Thanks to your long-term support, and
one very generous gift, our total before this year’s campaign is at
$135,000. This elevator addition to our
parish campus will allow our physically challenged parishioners access to the
parish hall in the aftermath of a funeral and will make approaching the church
from the lower parking manageable. I feel that we have been so fortunate with our fund raising here at Saint
Joseph’s. In spite of difficult
financial times we have been able to pay our bills, reach out to those in need,
support our ministries and even had a successful Golf Tournament. In the fall Saint Joseph’s hosted it’s
fifteenth annual Golf Tournament, “The Good, the Bad and the Golfers.” Our financial goal was to raise $25,000
however we actually were able to raise $30,000 and gave our Saint Vincent de
Paul Society $1,500 for their outreach ministries. So thank you for all your generous gifts!
Your time, your prayers are all deeply appreciated and reflect on our
dynamic life and ministry every day at Saint Joseph’s! With gratitude~ Father Matt Pennington Pastor
