“Come after me and I will make you fisher of men” Matthew 4:12
Dear Community of Saint Joseph’s;
Save the dates!
I have two dates I want you to keep on your calendars: Friday February 8 and the week of February the 24. On Friday night after the Lenten kick-off of our Italian Catholic Federation’s “World Famous Fish Fry,” Saint Joseph’s will be presenting a free concert of the music of Catholic singer and songwriter, David Kauffman. Kauffman will be performing in the church with a variety of musicians and will give to us an evening of song, praise, hope and revelation. Saint Joseph’s is offering limited child supervision, so call the parish office if your family would like to participate. The concert however, is free and open to all – no tickets or reservations required. Consider coming to the I.C.F. dinner in the parish hall and then join us in the church at 7:00 P.M. for an evening of music and prayer.
On the weekend of February 23/24 we will be welcoming Father Jude Siciliano and Sister Patty Bruno to Saint Joseph’s for a Lenten Parish Mission - Monday January 25 through Thursday January 28. Those four days we will be celebrating one daily mass at 8:00 A.M. followed by an informal Scripture sharing in our parish hall. Every evening Father Jude and Sister Patty will prepare an evening of spiritual exploration of themes that affect and change the way we understand and experience God, Christ and the Spirit.
These are rare and wonderful opportunities for the Catholic Community of Saint Joseph’s to spend sacred time together in music, Scripture, prayer and healing. So, please mark your calendars, save the dates and join us as we move into the power and mystery of the season of Lent.
